- Security as an emerging dimension of Digital Literacy for education: a systematic literature review(Italian e-Learning Association (SIe-L), 2022-08-19) Rocha Estrada, Francisco Javier; Glasserman Morales, Leonardo David; George Reyes, Carlos Enrique; Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de MonterreyThe mass use of the Internet, networks and digital devices has intensified the training processes in digital literacy; however, the risks related to the safety of users have also increased. The objective of this article is to analyze the scientific production related to digital security literacy, as well as to identify consolidated and emerging lines of research. To achieve this, a systematic literature review was carried out during the 2010-2020 period, taking as sources of information the Scopus and Web of Science databases. We used the systematic literature review method which has been adjusted for its application in the area of social sciences. The results indicate that most of the scientific texts have been produced in English, and that the treatment of the subject has been developed from perspectives related to criteria for the protection of personal data. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a need to develop a more solid body of scientific work that considers aspects such as safety in social networks, skills for digital security and digital intelligence.
- Research management systems: systematic mapping of literature (2007-2017)(INSIGHT - Indonesian Society for Knowledge and Human Development, 2018) Velásquez-Durán, Anabel; Ramírez Montoya, María Soledad; Tecnologico de MonterreyResearch management in relation to Research and Development (R&D) has found a comprehensive and powerful tool in the Current Research Information System (CRIS). Publications on the subject are still emerging, so knowing what research has been done and its contributions presents an opportunity to build theoretical and reference frameworks, and to identify gaps and potential opportunities for future developments in information technology. Various articles covering these systems were analyzed with the objective of identifying the research areas, countries and institutions in which they were published, as well as their research approaches, contributions and topics covered. A systematic mapping of literature was carried out, which included 33 articles published on Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus, from 2007 to 2017. To ensure valid results, the evaluation guide for researchers was used during for the design and review phases of the systematic mapping studies, as well as the corresponding evaluation rubric; in addition, a strategy to define direct decision rules on how to classify an article based on the results of evaluations of multiple researchers was adopted. The findings show that the main research areas are Information Science & Library Science and Computer Science; the largest concentration of publications is found in Europe; research focuses on Evaluation Research; contributions are oriented to create processes and models, and to describe the applications and uses of CRIS. It is concluded that there are areas of opportunity for the development of research in this area, such as the expansion of the research areas in which it is used, the possibilities of collaboration, sharing and exchange at a global level, and the coverage towards integration issues with open acces
- Strategy Based Instruction Facilitated by Technologies to Enhance Reading Comprehension(Academy Publications, 2016-07) Ramírez Montoya, María S.; Ochoa Vásquez, Miguel A.; Tecnológico de Monterrey; Universidad Estatal de SonoraThis study was set to determine the level of reading comprehension achievement for university students when instructed cognitive and metacognitive strategies in a learning environment mediated by technologies. Accordingly, the paper tried to answer this research question: Which is the effect of using cognitive and metacognitive strategies in a technology enriched environment on students to achieve the B1 English proficiency level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) in reading comprehension? This study took place in Universidad Estatal de Sonora (UES), México through a sequentialexplanatory mixed method research design which focused on a sample of 96 students who received 15 hours of instruction in Language Learning Strategies (LLS) by 6 teachers. A reading comprehension pre-test/post-test, a self-reported questionnaire in the use of cognitive and metacognitive strategies, a semi-structured interview and document analysis were used to gather data. For data analysis, a paired samples t-test technique and a phenomenological approach were conducted to analyze quantitative and qualitative data, respectively. The study showed contrasting results given that the reading comprehension test reflected low scores even though the students developed a better understanding of cognitive and metacognitive strategies and an improvement in their reading comprehension skills in class.
