- Dataset: Systematic literature review on inclusive design methods(2022-09-14) Alvarez Icaza Longoria, Inés; Tecnologico de Monterrey, School of Architecture, Art and Design, 14380 Mexico City, MexicoThis dataset includes the retrieved documents from two databases: Scopus and WoS, using the keywords (inclusive) AND ( "design methods" ), published between 2017 y 2022. Following a PRISMA approach, this Systematic Literature Review (SLR) allowed us to identify the design methods described in 18 documents, categorising their inclusive approaches and tools used in the design process. This SLR objective is to recognise the elements that could determine the methods' effectiveness for human-machine interaction design. The results showed that there are at least three parts of the design process leading to inclusion: 1) designing while looking into the future within an ethical frame, 2) elements that would provide control and increase the performance of products, services, or systems; and 3) guaranteeing effective human-machine interactions and adequated functionalities for each user role and stakeholder type.
- Dataset for Systematic Mapping on Digital Gap and gender, age, disability, or ethnicity(2021-09-13) Alvarez Icaza Longoria, Inés; Ramírez Montoya, María Soledad; Bustamante Bello, Martín Rogelio; Molina Gutiérrez, Arturo; Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de MonterreyThe rapid technological evolution defines the first two decades of the millennium. This phenomenon causes an increasing digital gap, disparities and inequalities in global and local contexts. This paper reports a Systematic Literature Mapping of 180 articles from 2000 to 2021 on “Digital Gap”. The documents were retrieved by boolean operations in two databases, adding terms related to gender, age, ethnicity and disabilities, focus on population groups that are especially vulnerable to the effects of this division. The method included categorising the retrieved documents to provide a general view of the most concerning topics in the academic and research community. This analysis concludes a) The approaches to address this topic are as diverse, as this is a multilayered, complex, and interconnected issue; b) There is an underrepresentation of the less developed countries, so it is not possible to have a complete image of a worldwide digital divide situation; c) The majority of published papers in the last decade report accessible Information and Communication Technologies; d) The results are a valuable source of information to identify the design requirements for more accessible products and services systems. The last section will provide a detailed explanation of the findings.
