- Validity and reliability of a survey to know the technological acceptance of an institutional repository: The case of resources on energy and sustainability(2018-11) Gonzalez-Perez, Laura-Icela; Ramírez-Montoya, María Soledad; García-Peñalvo, Francisco J; Valenzuela-González, Jaime Ricardo; Pinto-Llorente, Ana-María; Tecnológico de Monterrey; Universidad de SalamancaEl propósito de esta ponencia es presentar la validez y confiablidad de una encuesta diseñada para conocer la aceptación tecnológica del Repositorio Institucional RITEC del Tecnológico de Monterrey. La pregunta de investigación por responder es: ¿cómo influye la experiencia de usuario en el éxito o fracaso de la aceptación de un Repositorio Institucional?. La encuesta consta de cuatro dimensiones basadas en el Modelo de Aceptación Tecnológica (TAM): utilidad percibida (PU), facilidad de uso percibida (EU), actitudes hacia el uso (ATU) e intención de uso (BIU). La encuesta piloto fue aplicada a 47 estudiantes matriculados en el curso virtual “Visibilidad del conocimiento abierto a través del RITEC”. Los resultados obtenidos del análisis de confiabilidad, usando el índice Alfa de Cronbach, permiten señalar la alta consistencia interna de la encuesta. La validez de la encuesta se centra en la validez de contenido, valorada por un conjunto de expertos.
- Open access to educational resources in energy and sustainability: Usability evaluation prototype for repositories(2016) González-Pérez, Laura I.; Ramírez Montoya, María S.; García Peñalvo, Francisco J.; Tecnologico de MonterreyThe purpose of this paper is to show a PhD dissertation research plan, which aims to assess whether the users’ experience of users to perform various tasks in an open access repository, increases by integrating Discovery Tools. The tasks to perform by the users are management and information design, dissemination and searches of open educational resources (OER) of sustainability energy. This research aims to develop a usability evaluation prototype which will offer new insights in the design of the information architecture. In the first stage, the criteria will be selected to measure the level of usability of the tasks to evaluate and develop the analysis of the current interactive design of the web repository. In the second stage, will consist of measure, once implemented the Discovery Tools in the web repository and check the usability level increase in relation with the criteria. In this paper you could find aspects as the motivations and the context in which it will develop this research, state of the art, hypothesis, research objectives, aspects of the methodology of the research, developed under the method of mixed layout, the current an expected contribution, the results and the validation and dissertation status. The results will contribute for detect new criteria and parameters for provide flexible interfaces, specifically for the web repositories, which are a part of the technological ecosystem of the scientific activity.
- Discovery Tools for Open Access Repositories: Literature Mapping(2016) González-Pérez, Laura I.; Ramírez Montoya, María S.; García Peñalvo, Francisco J.; Tecnologico de MonterreyThe objective in this paper is to summarize the current knowledge that is available for Discovery Tools that have been employed for library services and open access repositories (OAR); This mapping is intended for studies which have addressed the concept and application of these, identify studies that have applied the Discovery tool to the context of the OAR and whether its implementation has benefited to the scientific visibility. The results of this study will measure the implications that we will have to consider to implement a Discovery Tool in a repository that will provide visibility to the results of the project "Binational Laboratory for the Intelligent Management of the Energy Sustainability and the Technological Formation" and to generate a prototype to evaluate and to measure the experience of the involved users for users looking for information on open access technological platforms with discovery tools.
