This work presents the essential engineering, administrative, economic and environmental factors that must be taken into consideration for the implementation of a polymeric membrane in a local wastewater treatment plant, taking the wastewater treatment plant from the Mexico City Campus of the Tecnológico de Monterrey The factors analyzed remained in critical variables of the engineering project such as time and cost, allowing us to discern the main problems that membranes present in plants with lower effluent generation capacity compared to industrial membranes. The project shows the main criteria that must be considered to guarantee profitability through the scalability of certain factors; allowing the client who purchases the membranes to have adequate information about the panoramic scheme that involves the implementation of the polymeric membranes, and for the suppliers to have well-established criteria to consider local private institutions as future clients. despite the fact that the working conditions are very different from those of current clients such as large industries and municipal treatment plants.
