- Contribución al estudio del modelado de canal: desarrollo e implementación de modelos y herramientas aplicados a plataformas de gran altitud(Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, 2007-11-01) Medina Acosta, Gerardo Agni; Cuevas Ruiz, José Luis; González Villarruel, Javier Eduardo; Aragón Zavala, Alejandro; Campus Estado de MéxicoThe intention of this thesis work is to collaborate with the study of the channel modeling in the field of wireless communication, by means of geometric and probabilistic analysis used to propose models and to develop tools applied to high altitude platforms (HAPs). In this document several concepts such as probability applied to engineering, communications theory and the analog and digital signal processing are involved. For this reason, throughout the text the most important concepts related to this topics are developed, which were later used to conform the theory that support the obtained results. The sequence of the chapters have been designed to establish in first instance a familiarization with the concept of the channel modeling, precedents, progress and future lines, later to present the theoretical foundations and issues involved in the development of this theory, ending with the presentation of the generated results. So the distribution of the chapters is presented as follows. Chapter I: Provides an introduction to the channel modeling concept, a brief history of its origins, the factors to consider for its study and their trends based on the development of the new systems of wireless communications, highlighting the high altitude platforms (HAPs) as a viable technological alternative to provide the future personal communication services. Chapter II: Defines the concept of the large-scale propagation, and are presented the models corresponding to Okumura, Hata, PCS extension to Hata, Walfish Ikegami, and brief description of the deterministic models. Chapter III: Emphasizes in the concept of small-scale propagation, including the concept of multipath propagation, factors influencing small-scale fading, fading produced by rain and the models of Rice-Holmberg, J. Chebil, Crane and ITU-R P.530-10. • Chapter IV & V: The chapters show respectively the methodology and the obtained results in this research, whose content is presented in the following order: The estimation of the losses in a fixed wireless system considering the dispersion provided by common materials of construction. The generation of multipath propagation model for a high altitude platform (HAP) based on circular straight cone geometry. The generation of rain attenuation maps for Mexico in operation frequencies of satellites and HAPs systems, based on the ITU-R. P.618 recommendation and the data provided by the National Meteorological Service. The development and implementation of complementary tools to the study of channel modeling, including: The implementation of the physical layer corresponding to the standard 802.16e (WiMAX). The implementation of an adaptive noise cancellation filter using Simulink and the digital signal processor DSK6713 of Texas Instruments. The transfer of the model corresponding to the “Modulation 16-QAM: (Simulink)” to the digital signal processor DSK6713. The implementation of a digital modem FSK using two digital signal processors (DSK6713), for the independent operation of the transmitter and the receiver. The conformation of this document tries to offer to the reader the foundation of the channel modeling theory in the environment of the wireless communications, deepening into the study of scenarios and tools concerning to high altitude platforms (HAPs), where the obtained results were described step by step having as intention to serve as a guide to reproduce them, to complement them and to use them as point of launch for future works.
