At the undergraduate level, it is also essential that students achieve efficient development of academic literacy. This research aims to show how research skills can be fostered to develop academic literacy through innovative models. For the present study, the mixed research method was used. The design of this research was sequential explanatory Quan-Qual in two phases. It is intended that the results allow the design of an innovative training model that establishes research competences to develop academic literacy.
