Hybrid memristor manufacturing based on a PEDOT:PSS/Halloysite nanocomposite

Abstract

Memristors are an emerging technology with the potential to revolutionize information storage. One of the most prominent lines of research in this area are polymer-based nanocomposite materials, for the manufacturing of bistable and non-volatile memristors. Due to their potential for flexible, high speed, low cost, and energy efficient data storage devices. However, to this day, the fabricated prototypes of memristors present shortcomings like low endurance and lack of spatial and temporal uniformity that prevent them from widespread use. Multiple studies have demonstrated that integrating nanostructures in polymer matrixes can improve the memory characteristics and overall performance of a device. This work presents the fabrication of hybrid devices based on a novel Polymer-Nanostructure composite. The characterization of said devices via I-V curve analysis and performance examination via data retention, uniformity, and endurance tests.
