- Tailored optical fields and their applications in quantum information processing(Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, 2018-05-15) Pérez García, Benjamín de Jesús; PEREZ GARCIA, BENJAMIN DE JESUS; 490195; Hernández Aranda, Raúl Ignacio; Korand, Thomas; López Mago, Dorilián; Rodríguez Mesagosa, Rodolfo; Gutiérrez Vega, Julio CésarA set of experimental techniques to digitally shape an optical beam are presented. In particular, we show how to digitally study the interference phenomena in different geometries and observables. We also present a novel way of generating arbitrary vector
- Generation and characterization of structured light in the partially coherent regime(Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) Yepiz Escalante, Adad; YEPIZ ESCALANTE, ADAD; 521552; Hernández Aranda, Raúl Ignacio; tolmquevedo, emipsanchez; Gutiérrez Vega, Julio Cesar; López Mago, Dorilián; Rodríguez y Masegosa, Rodolfo; School of Engineering and Sciences; Campus Monterrey; Pérez García, Benjamín de JesúsVarious experimental methods to shape partially coherent optical beams as well as some techniques to study their characteristic properties and spatial coherence are introduced. To generate partially coherent optical beams, digital holography and a rotating ground glass are used, which let us easily change the beams spatial coherence and in order to study their properties the cross-correlation function (CCF) is used. The CCF is studied numerically, analytically and experimentally with a wave front folding interferometer, which leads us to dislocations that provide interesting information about the beam, like some of the characteristic indices that form the beam, or the spatial coherence length. These methods are used to study different kinds of optical beams, mostly vortex beams and their variants; we also study some solutions of the paraxial wave equation, such as the Ince-Gaussian beams.
